The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said during at a press conference, responding to a question on the possible sale of troubled Su-57 multirole jet fighter to Azerbaijan.
Earlier, the RIA Novosti had reported that Azerbaijan is interested in purchasing the latest Su-57 multirole fifth-generation jet fighters and that the talks over the purchase were approved by the political elite.
So far many speculations have surfaced in various Russian media that the Su-57 could be exported to China, Algeria, Myanmar, Vietnam, and recently Azerbaijan. The Sukhoi Design Bureau is yet to bag an export contract since India abandoned plans to procure Su-57.
It is worth mentioning that Baku has purchased arms worth nearly $5 billion from Russia over the past decade.
