India’s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed a deal for the local manufacturing of components of marine gas turbine engines manufactured by “Zorya” – “Mashproekt” in India.
According to Oleksiy Zhukovets, General Director of Zorya-Mashproekt, the signing of the agreement will increase the competitiveness of the company’s products and expand opportunities for participation in new projects.
“Today we have reason to talk about the use of our equipment for ships of the Indian Navy in the long run,” the head of the company was quoted as saying by the press service of Ukroboronprom.
Partial localization will take place under a license agreement with BHEL payment of the corresponding royalty in favor of SE “Zorya” – “Mashproekt”.
It will be recalled that under the terms of the Indian state development program Make in India, when deciding to cooperate with foreign partners, preference is given to those companies whose production is at least partially localized in India.
