Russian multi-purpose reconnaissance and attack helicopter Ka-52 was shot down while performing a combat mission in Ukraine. The governor of Primorsky Krai said that the rotorcraft belonged to the Chernigov 319th separate helicopter regiment.
According to Krai, the Ka-52 helicopter was shot down from the ground while performing a combat mission killing both pilots. Major Roman Kobts and Captain Ivan Boldyrev were killed in that mission.
The Chernigov 319th separate helicopter regiment reported that Major Roman Kobets and Captain Ivan Boldyrev have completed 25 sorties.
The Kamov Ka-52 “Black Shark” is a Soviet/ Russian single-seat attack helicopter with the distinctive coaxial rotor system of the Kamov design bureau. The navalized Ka-52K has folding rotor blades and can carry an anti-ship missile capable of taking out tanker ships.
According to the Egyptian purchase document, the unit price of the Ka-52 helicopter is about 15 million US dollars at the current exchange rate.
