On the morning of 24 September, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter over Kherson Oblast, said Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force, during the 24/7 national joint newscast
“Just an hour ago [around 9:00], another helicopter of the invaders, a Ka–52, was shot down in Kherson Oblast. This helicopter will never take off again”, Ihnat noted that this was carried out by personnel of Air Command Pivden (South).
Personnel of Air Command Pivden (South) destroyed four of the five Kh-101 cruise missiles which targeted the same area on 6 September; another was destroyed by a personnel of Air Command Skhid (East).
Another missile hit “some targets” of Ukrainian infrastructure.
During the night, two Russian UAVs were shot down in eastern Ukraine.
An air defence system also shot down a Russian Su-25 ground attack aircraft.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the day on 6 September, members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian helicopter and a Su-25 jet in southern Ukraine.
