By the end of autumn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive two batteries of NASAMS air defense missile systems.
The Pentagon once again reminded that the United States is working on supplying air defense systems. Defense Department spokesman Gen. Patrick S. Ryder said NASAMS will be delivered within the next two months.
The surface-to-air missile systems from Norwegian defense company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace are included in one of the summer military aid packages. Note that the NASAMS are used to protect the skies above the White House and can hit air targets at ranges up to 40 kilometers and at altitudes up to 20 kilometers with AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.
There is still no information about how many anti-aircraft missile systems Ukraine will receive, and most likely we will not find out. However, it is known that one battery of NASAMS III includes six launchers.
