The Ukrainian special forces operator destroyed the Russian so called modern Т-90МS tank using a rocket propelled grenade.
The video of the operation was shared on social media.
The Russian tank was immobilized near the front line, presumably due to a hit from a rocket propelled grenade. According to the video, the crew left the tank after it was disabled.
This is the 485th documented loss of Russian Т-90М tanks in Ukraine. The tank is produced in small series at the Russian UralVagonZavod tank plant.
The Russian army received the first batch of these tanks only in 2020. The first batch was transferred to the 2nd Guards Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Tank Army.
Т-90М Proryv (object 188М) was developed as part of the R&D “Proryv-3” project and is an upgraded version of the Russian Т-90 main battle tank, which, in its turn, is an upgrade of the Soviet Т-72 tank.
Fire resistance was increased by equipping the machine with an upgraded loading mechanism, which allows the use of more ammunition.
The tank gunner also received a new multi-channel sight, allowing the use of weapons at any time of the day and in any weather condition.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently the world’s second largest users of the most Russian tank, the T-90.
