Putin’s new air defense system is nets between lampposts to catch FPV drones, but it doesn’t help

The Russian military has come up with a new way of intercepting Ukrainian FPV drones. But it is not quite effective yet.

Below you can see footage that shows nets stretched between lampposts. The video was recorded in Donetsk region near occupied Bakhmut.

Very often Ukrainian FPV drones chase Russian equipment through the streets. Nets are supposed to be a barrier for drones. How effective this means of defence will be at a distance, it’s hard to say yet. But below you can see how an FPV drone calmly flew over the net and hit the target.

The Russians probably won’t stop there. In particular, Russian propagandists suggest using fishing nets, as they are harder to spot.
