French Navy frigate Alsace successfully launched a next-generation Exocet Mer-Mer 40 Block 3C anti-ship missile

The French Navy frigate Alsace was able to launch a new-generation Exocet Mer-Mer 40 Block 3c anti-ship missile. This is reported by MBDA.

The Mer-Mer 40 Block 3c or MM40 B3C is the most advanced anti-ship missile of the Exocet family. It can be integrated on various platforms including submarines, surface ships, aircraft, helicopters and coastal launch systems.

The new-generation missile has a Thales digital active radar homing head. It is characterised by increased resistance to electronic warfare systems through the integration of coherent radar processing.

MBDA did not stop development and started working on improving the anti-ship missile immediately after the announcement. This allowed the Exocet to adapt to new environments while maintaining all-weather capabilities. The company calls the MM40 B3c version the answer to emerging threats.
