Raytheon Technologies (RTX) has awarded military advanced electronics company CAES a multi-year contract worth $172 million.
Under the contract, the American firm will support a “major international missile program,” covering “the next three lots of follow-on production for the missile data-link assembly.”
CAES provides subsystems to the missiles and munitions market, including antennas, flight termination receivers, radio frequency (RF) processors, and data links.
“CAES is at the forefront of RF electronics and advanced [electronic warfare] capabilities, supplying critical components that our customers rely on,” CAES President and CEO Mike Kahn said.
“CAES has been a long-time partner of RTX and we value our continued relationship supporting their mission and advancing capabilities to defend and defeat future threats.
Recent Raytheon Activity
Last month, the US Air Force contracted Raytheon to integrate its GhostEye radar system with the Advanced Battle Management System.
This is a $12.5-million modification to a previous contract valued at over $50 million.
In May, Raytheon subsidiary Collins Aerospace supplied the initial networked communications airborne radio for Poland’s C-130H Hercules military transport aircraft.
The handover followed Warsaw’s decision to purchase five surplus Hercules from the US in 2021.
Also in May, rocket motor manufacturer Nammo announced it had signed a deal with Raytheon to introduce new critical solid rocket motor manufacturing lines at its Perry, Florida, site.
Raytheon is serving as a merchant supplier to bring vital capability and capacity in solid rocket motor manufacturing from Nammo’s experience in Norway to its expansion in the US.
